Sustainable Hope Foundation for Women and Youths Development (SHOWDEV) is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization born out of a strong desire to assist in the personal development of women, youth and people in the communities — with a strategy aimed at skills acquisition for meaningful contribution to communal empowerment and development, culminating in poverty reduction.
To empower women, girls, youths, and vulnerable populations through sustainable agriculture, livelihood and economic empowerment, and skills development. We advance gender equity and justice, and promote access to quality health and education services for improved well-being and self-reliance.
A world where women, girls, youths, and vulnerable individuals have the skills, resources, and opportunities to build better futures for themselves and their communities; where gender equity and justice are realized, and access to quality education and healthcare is universal.
Our intervention programs are rooted in the following pillars.
Promoting access to quality, inclusive, and affordable healthcare services. We focus on primary healthcare, sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria (ATM), maternal and child health, and community health education.
Advancing equitable access to quality education and skills development. Our interventions target out-of-school children, girl-child education, literacy, vocational training, and school WASH programs.
Ensuring sustainable access to safe water, improved sanitation, and hygiene practices. We work with government and communities to reduce water-borne diseases and promote climate-resilient WASH infrastructure.
Building community resilience to climate change while improving food systems. We support climate-smart agriculture, sustainable livelihoods, environmental protection, and nutrition security.
Safeguarding the rights and dignity of vulnerable populations. We address gender-based violence (GBV), child protection, safeguarding, and psychosocial support to ensure safe and inclusive communities. SHOWDEV has zero-tolerance for Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, and Sexual Harassment (SEA & SH).
Promoting sustainable livelihoods and economic opportunities for women and youths. We provide skills training, entrepreneurship support, financial inclusion, and market linkages to reduce poverty and increase self-reliance.
